Maryam Igram, founder and director

Born in the United States and raised in Canada, Maryam Igram decided to settle in France to develop a new approach to language learning, inspired by an American coaching method. She created her accredited foreign language training center, The Inspire Academy, in 2015 in Biarritz.

TEFL

The TOEFL test measures the four English skills (reading, writing, listening, and speaking). This test lasts approximately four hours.

TOEIC

The Test of English for International Communication (TOEIC) is “an English test designed specifically to measure the everyday English skills of people working in an international environment.”

There are different forms of examination: the TOEIC Listening and Reading test consists of two comprehension assessment tests of equal level totaling a possible score of 990; there are also the TOEIC Speaking and Writing tests.

The TOEIC test consists of tasks that assess pronunciation, intonation and stress, vocabulary, grammar, cohesion, content relevance and completeness.

The TOEIC Writing test consists of tasks that assess grammar, sentence relevance to images, sentence quality and variety, vocabulary, organization, and whether opinions are supported by reason and/or examples. Both assessments use a scoring scale of 0–200.

BULATS

BULATS is a flexible online tool that assesses English language skills for business, industry, and commerce. It helps you build a workforce that communicates confidently in international business environments.

DCL

The DCL is a diploma from the Ministry of Education that validates your professional language skills; in other words, it certifies your level of English in a professional environment. It values the candidate’s personal and professional experience, with a view to European mobility.

Currently, the DCL covers German, English, Spanish, and Italian. It is divided into 5 levels, themselves anchored to the Common European Framework of Reference for Languages (CEFR) scale of levels of the Council of Europe.

DELF

DELF (Diplôme d’études en langue française) is a certification of French language skills for non-native speakers of French, administered by the Centre international d’études françaises of the French Ministry of Education. It comprises four independent diplomas corresponding to the first four levels of the Common European Framework of Reference for Languages: A1, A2, B1, and B2.

CLOE

CLOE (Oral and Written Language Skills) is a certification of oral and written language skills (comprehension and production) implemented in a professional or extra-professional environment.

LILATE

Live Language Test (LILATE) is a professional language certification recognized by France Compétences (code RS6196 in the Répertoire Spécifique). Designed to assess the ability to work in a foreign language, the test is entirely online, adaptive, and focused on real-world professional situations. It certifies your ability to use a foreign language in a genuine professional context. Unlike traditional academic tests, it concentrates on practical scenarios, such as role-playing, simulated professional exchanges, reading emails, and listening to audio or video recordings.
